New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to three of Bolton’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and the management of food safety, inspectors have rated two eateries three out of five hygiene ratings and one eatery a one out of five rating.

The inspection report on the Food Standards Agency website states all areas are generally satisfactory.

The inspection report states the hygienic food handling is generally satisfactory, improvement is necessary for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and major improvement is necessary for the management of food safety.

It means that of Bolton's 438 restaurants, cafes, and canteens with ratings, 243 (55 per cent) have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.
