A popular park was taped off throughout the morning as police investigated the death of a man.
Emergency services were called to Heywood Park in Great Lever just after 7am after a man suffered a medical incident.
The 42-year-old was later pronouced dead in the Royal Bolton Hospital.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called to reports of a medical incident in Heywood Park in Bolton this morning.
"Despite the best efforts of emergency service personnel, a 42-year-old man sadly died later at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
"Enquiries have been conducted and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
One eyewitness told The Bolton News they saw several ambulances at around 7am today (Wednesday September 27).
"The Crime Scene Investigation unit, including plain clothes officers, were also at the park, whilst they gathered evidence been seen brought out of the park in bags.
Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) also attended with a response vehicle, an advanced paramedic, and an ambulance crew.
NWAS received a call at around 7.05am and responded to a “patient requiring emergency assistance”.
A spokesperson for NWAS said: "We got a 999 call at 7.05am.
"A response vehicle, an advanced paramedic, and an ambulance crew attended.
"We responded to a patient requiring emergency assistance.
"That patient was taken to hospital."
Residents expressed concern after seeing the park taped off, with one stating only a section of the park was closed of, before the cordon was extended further.
An eyewitness said: "At about 7am this morning I was walking to the shop round the corner, and I saw a few ambulances there, but I didn't see what happened.
"There's probably something bad that's happened for it to be like that.
"I heard sirens later so that's when the police turned up."
Other residents were concerned as to what had happened in the area.
A resident said: "I saw the police tape when taking my children to school, but I did not see what happened.”
