Police recovered a car in Bolton yesterday which had been stolen and was on false plates.

The car, a grey Ford Fiesta, was found by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers on Silverdale Road in Heaton.

They found the car to be on false plates and seized it, with it having been reported stolen.

It will now be examined by GMP forensic officers.

A spokesperson from Bolton North Neighbourhood Team said: "Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have recovered this vehicle from Silverdale Road in Halliwell.

"The vehicle was found to be on false plates and was in fact a stolen vehicle. Vehicle recovered for an examination by our forensic officers."

This comes after police in Bolton appealed for information following thefts in the Heaton and Ladybridge areas earlier this month

The Bolton West Neighbourhood Team had been made aware of recent incidents of thefts of motor vehicles, thefts or attempted thefts from motor vehicles and individuals trying doors in the areas.
