Carrs Pasties have been selling like hot cakes since expanding into Horwich less than a week ago.
The Bolton News reported the company — which counts celebrities amongst its customers — has opened a new shop in the Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park in Horwich opened its fourth store in Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park on Tuesday.
And celebrations to mark the opening of its new shop will continue on Saturday, with not one but two special guests.
Bolton Wanderers Mascot Lofty the Lion has been invited to to cut the ribbon and legend John McGinlay will be greeting customers.
The ribbon will be cut at 10am and the first 100 people to enter the store will receive a free pasty.
Other treats and tasters will be available on the day too as part of the celebration.
Bridget Markey, head of retail at Carrs Pasties said: “We are so excited to see the doors finally open, Horwich is a new area for us but so far, the response has been fantastic. We hope customers love the shop as much as we’ve loved the process.
"We’ve worked with some brilliant people on this project, and it’s been a pleasure.”
The shop will sell the full range of pasties, salads, sandwiches, soups and cakes.
It also has a food-to-go section, a freezer stocked with frozen products ready to bake at home, and customers will also be able to create sandwiches and salads to suit them. Breakfast barms will be served from 7am – 11am Monday – Saturday and 9am – 11am on Sunday.
The coffee will be provided by Manchester Based company Second City Coffee which is also available at all other Carrs Pasties stores.
The shop will be open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 5pm on Sundays.
A Click & Collect service will be available in addition to Uber Eats and Just Eat deliveries.
The store, which was previously occupied by EE, has taken 48 days to transform into a bakery shop and was fitted by Frimovel, bakery and shop fitting specialists based in Burnley.
Aaron Fielding, Project Manager at Frimovel said: "It’s been great working behind the scenes with the team at Carrs and we’re very happy to see the Middlebrook site come to life. Straight from our original site surveys it looked like a great fit and we’re really pleased with the outcome in bringing a fresh look to their latest retail space – we look forward to working together again soon!’’
Carrs Pasties is a family-run business. The bakery started in 1938 at its Original Shop on Halliwell Road and now has four shops, a nationwide delivery service and an ecommerce website. It has a core range of six products and a vegan range. The bakery is committed to quality, using the finest ingredients from local suppliers.
