A long serving member of The Inner Wheel Club of Horwich has been recognised for her dedication to the organisation.
Eileen Dickinson has completed 50 years service with the local branch, the first to do so.
To show the club's appreciation for her 50 years' service, President Katie Maher presented her with a beautiful engraved cut glass tumbler.
Horwich Club was founded in 1954, but Inner Wheel as a whole was formed in1924 by the wives of Rotarians in Manchester, to compliment the work of service organisation, Rotary.
Nowadays membership is more open, the group still works closely with Rotary and welcomes all ladies who enjoy helping others less fortunate.
Their aims and objects are to promote true friendship, to encourage the ideals of personal service and to foster international understanding.
