A car fire closed a motorway slipway earlier this evening with firefighters from two Bolton stations called to the scene.
Fire crews from Bolton Central and Horwich stations were called to a slipway off Junction 6 on the M61 motorway at around 7pm on Monday evening.
There they found a car ablaze and were forced to close the slipway while they made the scene safe.
A spokesperson said: “Crews from Horwich and Bolton Central attended to a car fire which was blocking the slip road from Junction 6.
“They were there from around 7pm and remained on the scene for around an hour.”
The car was evacuated and no injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.
Fire crews remained on the scene until around 8pm on Monday evening after which the slip road was able to be reopened again.
As yet, they do not have any indication as to the cause of the blaze.
