A woman found unconscious in her car at a Bolton shopping centre has died despite efforts by the members of the public who performed CPR on the scene.
Emergency services were called to the Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park on Sunday after being alerted.
It is understood those at the retail park rushed to perform CPR.
The woman was pronounced dead at hospital despite the 'best attempts' of those who helped.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) believe there are no suspicious circumstances around the death.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Greater Manchester Police were called to CPR taking place in a public place of a woman at around 2pm on Sunday 20 November 2022 near to The Linkway, Bolton.
"Officers attended to support at the scene and despite the best attempts of emergency services she was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later after being taken to hospital.
"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances around the sudden death."
A spokesman from North West Ambulance Service said: “We sent an ambulance and two response vehicles to an incident at Middlebrook Retail Park, Bolton, following a call at 14.08 on Sunday.
“Crews then took a patient to the hospital.”
A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “A member of the public alerted M&S staff that a lady was unconscious in her car.
“Security and several members of the public administered CPR until the emergency services arrived very quickly.
“They worked on her inside the ambulance for a while.”
