An Indian takeaway in Astley Bridge has been named the best in Bolton at an awards ceremony in London.

Little India Bolton has won the Curry Life Award for the Best Takeaway in the borough at a ceremony Grosvenor House on October 10.

The prestigious award seeks to recognise the best vendors on the British curry scene.

This is the third time in as many years that it has been recognised at the awards ceremony.

Last year the chef and owner at Little India – Abdul Malik - was recognised in the best curry category. They were also proclaimed as the best takeaway in the 2020 iteration of the awards.

The takeaway, situated on Blackburn Road, won the award having received the most nominations in the area.

It has extended its thanks its customer base, which it says has been by its side since it first opened its doors in 2004.

A spokesperson for Little India said: “We couldn’t have got to where we are now without them.”

They added: “This award proves that we are serving the best Indian takeaway meals in Bolton, and they always arrive on time.

“We always work hard to keep up our standards along with our five-star hygiene rating.

“We are an independent, family business and we like to keep everything in house.

“We don’t like to use third-party companies like Just Eat or Uber Eats. We like to communicate with our customers directly. This way we can provide them with the best customer service.”

The spokesperson says that in these difficult economic times, the business is doing everything it can to remain affordable.

They said: “With cost going up for energy and for food, we are trying to make sure that we can keep our prices down while still provide the highest quality ingredients.”
