A blaze which broke out in a flat in the early hours of today is being treated as arson.
Emergency services were called to Haydock Street in Bolton at 12.30am.
No one was in the flat at the time.
Crews fom Bolton North and Bolton Central Fire Station were mobilised to the fire.
Watch manager Steve Waygood at Bolton Central Fire Station said: “We were called out to a ground floor flat at 12.30am this morning.
“No injuries or persons were involved in the fire, and it was extinguished using a hose reel.
“We’ve put it down to a possible deliberate ignition and the police are investigating further.”

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 12.50am this morning (Monday 5 September 2022) we were called to a report of a fire at a property on Haydock Street, Bolton.
“The fire has now been extinguished and no persons were inside at the time.
“Investigations are ongoing to understand the full circumstances into what is believed to be arson. No arrests have been made at this stage.”
