A car caught fire earlier today on Bolton Road.
Emergency services attended a car that was on fire earlier today between 2.30pm and 2.50pm on Bolton Road driving towards Radcliffe.
According to a passerby, the car caught fire which had two men and two children inside who got out of the car before the car fully caught on fire.
Matthew Holden was driving in the area when his wife noticed the car on fire.
He said: "A car was on fire on Bolton Road at around 2.30pm to 2.50pm today.
"As we were driving up Bolton Road my wife spotted the car, a synergy carter van overtook and stopped the car.
"An ambulance was in front of us, turned around and directed traffic around the car.
"It was a diesel VW Touran, I think.
"The fire service turned up and got the fire out."
The police, fire and ambulance service have been contacted for further information.
