A THUG attacked staff at an Indian restaurant when they refused to give him a naan bread.
The man repeatedly punched a waiter in the head before hurling wine bottles at a member of the public who tried to help.
The bottle smashed on the have-a-go hero's leg, slashing an artery and causing a serious injury.
The attacker struck at the East to West Indian restaurant in Chorley Old Road, Bolton, at around 10pm on Friday night.
A police spokesman said: "He went into the restaurant and started shouting and being abusive, demanding naan bread. The staff then refused to serve the man because he was being so abusive.
"The man then turned on them and attacked a member of staff, punching him several times.
"A customer tried to intervene, at which point the offender went behind the bar, and started throwing bottles of wine. One hit the customer on the leg, causing a severe wound and a lot of bleeding."
The attacker then fled with a woman who had been waiting for him outside.
Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident.
