The M61 southbound at junction 3
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a vehicle fire on the M61 this evening with one lane forced to close.
The blaze happened on the motorway northbound between junction 2 for the East Lancashire Road and junction 4 for Farnworth.
Lane one of three was shut following the fire.
No injuries were reported.
