NOW that barbecue season is coming to an end, it’s time to start thinking of where to go for inside eating treats.
Diners have been giving their verdicts on Trip Advisor, and, based on their reviews, the top 10 best places to eat in Bolton are:
1. Royal Balti House,78 Market Street, Farnworth

Unsurprising really, it is always a popular destination and has a really varied menu.
The restaurant is a regular at the English Curry Awards and was a finalist this year.
It tops the list easily with more than 800 excellent reviews.
2. Earthlings, 221 Darwen Road, Bromley Cross

Earthlings was popular right from the start with its vegan delights and signature raw brownies.
It has certainly impressed punters enough to get it to number two on this list.
One reviewer said: "Food was fresh and organic, last time I tasted hummus ike that I was in Tel Aviv."
3. Casalingo, 23 Church Street, Ainsworth

Casalingo, which means 'home', was opened by Italian native Antonello Riu.
He and wife Joanne also own the award-winning Antonello's in Edgworth.
Visitors praise the restaurant's Italian menu and its accommodating staff.
4. Tapaz Ristorante, 3 Bradshawgate, Bolton

Tapaz offers a taste of the Mediterranean right in Bradshawgate.
Mr Allaoui started working at Ciao Napoli, which also features on this list, and opened Tapaz Ristorante after investing £120,000 in the building.
Still going strong reviewers praise the "little gem" in the heart of Bolton and keep coming back for its tapas.
5. Unity Brook Pub, 452 Manchester Road, Kearsley

At number five it is the first pub on the list and serves up a great selection of pub grub.
The popular pub has more than 200 excellent reviews. Punters enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and cosy pub style with many enjoying the chesse and onion pie.
6. Sokrates Taverna, 80-84 Winter Hey Lane, Horwich

This little bit of Greece in the heart of Horwich is beloved by its regulars.
One reviewer said: "Very friendly staff and food was exceptional and authentic."
Reviewers are effusive with their praise for its staff and the "excellent meze".
7. Ciao Napoli, 11 Mawdsley Street, Bolton

This little slice of Naples is right in the town centre but is tucked away down Mawdsley Street, so you could be forgiven for missing it.
Reviewers on Trip Advisor will tell you you are missing a real treat with its authentic food and great lunch deal.
8. Poppins Tearooms, 142A Lee Lane, Horwich
Poppins Tearooms makes it to number eight on the list
This fun tearoom is another must in Horwich and is so popular it was able to open a second in Smithills Hall.
The original in Lee Lane has its own historic links, it sports a blue plaque honouring Horwich engineer, William Parr who helped design the Titanic.
Reviewers love the quirky Mary Poppins theme and the home-made soups.
9. Tonge Thai, 315 Tonge Moor Road, Bolton

As well as being a great pun Tonge Thai keeps its customers coming back with its food which is frequently hailed as "amazing" on Trip Advisor.
Reviewers recommend its king prawns and green curry.
One reviewer said: "All the curries are made from their own paste at which, having tried it myself, it’s not easy to do.
"They are fresh, delicious and they do make it spicy if you ask them to."
10. The Bank, 1 Market Place, Bolton

A recent addition to The Vaults this steakhouse has gathered a big fan base in a short amount of time.
Despite the range of options available in The Vaults this is the only one to make to top ten.
Reviewers praise its skewers, steak and friendly staff.
One said: "Had the chocolate cake for afters but unfortunately I shared it with the Mrs. That will not happen again as it was delicious!"
