DRAMATIC footage posted on social media showed a coach engulfed in flames in a Walkden street this afternoon.
The incident is believed to have happened in Bridgewater Road shortly before 5pm.
A crowd of onlookers gathered at the scene to watch the drama unfold.
Firefighters eventually arrived about 15 minutes later and put out the fire.
It is not known how many people were on the coach at the time, or whether anyone was injured.
A video posted on Facebook, showing the devastation as fire engulfed the vehicle and plumes of black smoke drifted up into the sky, has been viewed more than 28,000 times.
Ellie Hazelwood, who posted the footage, said: “I work in the offices around the corner. We went outside and the fire was just around the engine.
“Five minutes later, it had completely taken out the back end. By the time the fire engines turned up, it had taken over the whole vehicle.
“It took me back a bit when I first saw it. I have never seen anything like it. It just got worse and worse.
“The driver was standing quite close to the coach. I think he was just in shock.”
