BOLTON School girls' division is in the top ten best school in the North West.
It is ranked ninth in the Parent Power, The Sunday Times Schools Guide 2018 in the top ten independent secondary schools in the region based on examination results.
The tables shows that 77.7 per cent of girls achieved A* to B in their A-level results and 60.7 per cent received A*/A grades in their GCSE grades.
The school also rose in the national table from 170 in 2016 to 161 this year.
The top performing school in the North West was Withington Girls' School and the top state school in the region in Altrincham Grammar School for Girls.
Sue Hincks, headmistress of Bolton School girls' division said: "We are always delighted when Bolton School is recognised in League tables, reflecting our examination success. Bolton School is far more than achievement in examinations, however. In particular we value extra curricular and volunteering activities as being key to developing our pupils in to well-rounded young adults who understand the need to give back to their community."
The 25th edition of Parent Power identifies the 2,000 highest-achieving schools in the UK, ranked by their recent examination results.
