A CRANE will once again be built in Bolton town centre as part of work to create a new nine-screen cinema.
The council has announced road closures around the Market Place cinema, which will be needed when the crane arrives and is erected.
The equipment is being used to bring in some plant machinery to carry out work at the site.
The cinema will be operated by The Light when it is completed — which is expected to be at the end of the summer.
The multiplex will form part of the overall £19 million redevelopment of the Market Place by owners Moorgarth, which includes bars and restaurants opening up in the centre’s refurbished Victorian Vaults.
The road closures will take place from 11.30pm on Sunday May 29 until 8am the following day and again on Sunday June 5 from midnight until 8am.
During these periods, all vehicles will be prevented from entering, stopping, standing, waiting, loading or unloading in Knowsley Street from its junction with Corporation Street to where it meets St George’s Road.
The alternative route for traffic will be via Marsden Road and Deansgate.
