A FUNDRAISING day in Farnworth has been organised to help improve the life of a little girl.
DJ and entertainer Ken Felton, from Farnworth, is calling on his local community to help raise funds for three-year-old Shenna Merrishaw.
The little girl from Eccles was born with a brain damage injury and suffers from a number of medical conditions such as cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
She is also unable to eat or drink through her mouth, and has under gone numerous medical procedures to improve her quality of life, including a tracheostomy and gastrostomy.
A friend of Shenna's family, Mr Felton is now supporting a campaign to raise £3,000 in order to purchase a Sensory Voyager toy for her.
He said: "When I first heard her story I was so moved, I thought that there must be something I can do to help.
"I'm a resident DJ and entertainer at the Havilland Club so have organised a big fun day at the club and contacted lots of different entertainers and singers for to help.
"Lots of people have volunteered and its going to be a great day for a great cause."
The fundraiser will be taking place on May 8 at Havilland Club in Gladstone Road.
Running from 1pm to 5pm, admission is free with live entertainment, kids entertainment, face painting, raffle, auction, tombola, food, cakes, sweets, bouncy castle, and special guests.
