A BOLTON Cub Scout with a record-breaking badge collection has been enjoying his moment in the spotlight.
Ten-year-old Harry Mathieson hit the headlines after collection a possible national record-breaking 41 activity badges during his time in the 19th Bolton (Bolton School) Scout Group.
The unusual feat was achieved by collecting all 37 available activity badges before the Scout Association introduced four new badges, just before the association removed five of the old badges for good.
After his story featured in the Bolton News last week, the Bolton Junior Boys School pupil has been sharing the achievement with a national audience.
As well as appearing in national newspapers, Harry, from Bolton, was also interviewed by BBC Radio Five Live as well as BBC Breakfast and Newsround where he discussed what he had to do to attain each badge and his next challenge as he becomes a fully-fledged Scout.
Harry's badges, which he proudly displays on his uniform, were collected over three years and he has also attained eleven staged activity badges; an Environmental Partnership badge; a Union flag badge; seven challenge badges; and achieved his Chief Scout Silver award.
