A MOTHER and daughter had to flee their car after it set on fire in Astley Bridge.
The blaze broke out in the Citroen C3 near to Asda in Blackburn Road at 4.50pm, and was caused by an electrical fault in the engine.
The pair were able to exit the car and were unhurt, and the owner of a nearby takeaway was able to put the blaze out with a fire extinguisher.
Firefighters from Bolton North station also attended to ensure it was safe.
