A MAN’S body has been found in a quarry in Egerton.
Police found the 42-year-old man's body at about 10am yesterday.
At 1.30am on the same day, police went to a house in Dobson Road, Halliwell, after someone called to report concerns about the welfare of the person who lived there.
The body was found several hours later at the bottom of Cox Green Quarry, in Cox Green Road, Egerton.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team was called to help with the removal of the body, which has now been passed to the coroner.
Police and the mountain rescue team temporarily cordoned off the quarry while investigations were carried out.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, police said.
