A MOTORIST who was caught drink-driving twice within two weeks has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Bolton magistrates heard how Scott Byrne, aged 27, of Woodbridge Drive, Tonge Moor, was stopped driving a VW Golf on Manchester Road, Bolton, on October 11.
He was almost two times over the legal alcohol limit, had no insurance and resisted arrest.
Then, on October 23, he was stopped again, this time on Platt Lane, Westhoughton, when he was driving a Vauxhall Astra and was more than two times over the drink drive limit.
Byrne pleaded guilty to all the offences and was sentenced to two months in prison, suspended for two years.
He will also be subject to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 16 weeks and must attend Thinking Skills sessions for six days.
He was banned from driving for four years and ordered to pay £100 compensation plus an £80 victim surcharge.
