ANDY Lonergan has been assured he remains Wanderers’ number one, despite making the mistake that proved the turning point in Saturday’s FA Cup defeat by Cardiff.
Dougie Freedman, who was pleased with the way his team bouned back from their 7-1 defeat at Reading the previous week, insists Lonergan, who has impressed in goal since replacing the injured Adam Bogdan, remains his first-choice keeper.
“It was a mistake that cost us but as I have said, there is no blame because Lonners (Andy Lonergan) has been terrific and he is our number one right now.
“There is no doubt in my mind he plays every week because his level of performance has been right up there.”
