Barn destroyed in hay fire
A BARN was destroyed during a hay fire at a farm in Wingates.
The outbuilding at Brinsop Hall Farm in Chorley Road went up in flames at about 6.30pm yesterday.
Six fire crews from across the borough tackled the blaze throughout the night, but no one was injured.
Firefighters managed to prevent the flames from spreading to an adjoining building containing machinery and sheep shearing equipment.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
