A TEACHER has been arrested after he was found hiding in a 16-year-old girl's bedroom.
Greater Manchester Police said they were investigating the incident, which happened on Friday, July 19, in Bolton - the last day of term.
It is understood that the girl's mother found the man hiding under her daughter's bed after coming home early.
Police said they were called to the address because of "concerns for the girl's welfare".
The 35-year-old man, who is understood to be a teacher at a school in Bolton, has been arrested on suspicion of abusing a position of trust and bailed until August 15 pending further inquiries.
A police spokesman said: "Greater Manchester Police officers and a number of partner agencies in the Bolton area are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident itself.
"This investigation will also look at any safeguarding issues that need to be addressed and establish if any offences have been committed."
Neither the teacher, the school nor the pupil can be identified for legal reasons.
