A MAN has been found guilty of murdering his mother by strangling her.
Paul Stones, aged 38, of Park Terrace, Eagley, denied murdering his mother, Marian Stones - but he was found guilty this afternoon, Thursday, after a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
Stones accepted killing his 58-year-old mother by strangling her last June at the home they shared, but he claimed his actions were caused by the anti-depressants he was taking.
The jury of eight women and four men were sent out just before 4pm yesterday and deliberated for about one day before deciding Stones was guilty.
Stones handed himself in at Scholey Street police station on Sunday, June 10.
He will be sentenced tomorrow morning.
