ANDY Lonergan will be out of action for at least two months after undergoing knee surgery. Summer signing Lonergan has made just one appearance since arriving from Leeds United – but will now be sidelined until the New Year after damaging ligaments in his knee. The 29-year-old has been behind Adam Bogdan in the pecking order so far this season but picked up the injury last Tuesday in training. Jay Lynch has stepped up as understudy, and Wanderers also have Rob Lainton back in action after several months out. Jimmy Phillips will also be giving a fitness check to central defender Matt Mills before Saturday’s game at Middlesbrough. Mills limped off in the second half against Wolves on Tuesday night with a tight hamstring and is rated doubtful for the trip to the Riverside.
