Inspector Keiron Maddocks

Welcome to your Bolton South Neighbourhood pages.

I am Inspector Keiron Maddocks and have ownership of neighbourhood policing for Bolton Town Centre, Great Lever, Farnworth, Harper Green, Kearsley, Little Lever, Hulton and Rumworth.

I joined Greater Manchester Police almost 18years ago. I started on the Salford Division and since then have worked in a variety of uniform roles in various ranks. I have worked in a number of neighbourhood police roles across Salford, City of Manchester before arriving as a Neighbourhood Inspector in Bolton.

I have always enjoyed front line policing, problem solving an partnership work. Neighbourhood policing is something I truly believe can have a positive impact on communities and working with partners and yourselves we can target and deal with those individuals who negatively impact your quality of lives.

Myself and my team of officers understand the current concerns and will work hard with our partners to resolve the issues that affect our communities. It is as important to us as it is to you.

On these pages you will find priorities in our area that we continue to work on. We will update these priorities with the action we have taken to remedy them.

We can’t do this without you, so we have launched an alert system called Bee in the loop which will enable us to contact you directly about these priorities. It will also enable you to speak to officers on the ground, where you live, so you can tell us what matters most to you.

You can sign up at www.beeintheloop.co.uk

If this isn’t for you, you can also see our scheduled meetings. You will get to speak to an officer directly.

Sergeant James Astbury

Welcome to your Bolton South Neighbourhood pages.

I am Sergeant James Astbury and have management of neighbourhood policing for Bolton Town Centre and Great Lever.

I joined Greater Manchester Police in 2018, initially serving as a uniform response officer on the Wigan & Leigh Borough, responding to 999 calls. Within this role I was able to build a set of core skills within policing.

In 2021, I stepped into a supervisory role within the Prisoner Processing Unit where I had the opportunity to cover both the Wigan & Bolton Boroughs. During this time, I was able to expand my knowledge of policing and take a more strategic approach to tackling Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women & Girls.

In 2022, I returned to the Wigan Borough where I was a uniform Response Sergeant; before moving back to the Bolton District 12 months later to undertake the Sergeant’s position within the Prisoner Processing Unit once again. From here I have become a district champion for Domestic Abuse and have taken the lead in looking to improve criminal justice processes.

I have always enjoyed partnership working and have a passion for wanting to better the community I serve. As the Sergeant for your community, I will listen to your concerns, and ensure my team act on the concerns you raise.

On these pages, you will find priorities in our areas that we continue to work on. We will update these priorities with the action we have taken to remedy them.

We can’t do this without you, so we have launched an alert system called Bee in the Loop, which will enable us to contact you directly about these priorities. It will also enable you to speak to officers on the ground, where you live, so you can tell us what matters most to you.
