THE Bolton & District Civic Trust wishes to assure your readers we have thought long and hard about our Vision for Cheadle Square.
Unlike Bolton’s offerings, our Vision will not encourage windy corridors. We also understand conservation areas.
Ours is a design that seeks to complement the “splendour” of Le Mans Crescent and its three archways, partly by means of the three design axes. But there is much else to explain.
The Civic Trust welcomes considered, as opposed to glib, feedback. And it does try to choose its words carefully. So on the posed question of “buzz words”, development that is not low-carbon will be a liability for future generations. And sustainability is probably only seen as a “buzz word” to those who do not yet appreciate it as an imperative; certainly in regard to town planning.
