Prestwich Pride has announced its biggest and most vibrant line-up ahead of the weekend event this summer.

Prestwich Pride will take place from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 August.

This year's festivities promise an array of events, showcasing the diverse and inclusive spirit of the LGBTQ+ community, with some new faces as part of the line-up as well as some Prestwich Pride favourites.

In the run up to the event, local artist Myro Doodles will be back for a third year decorating the windows of Prestwich with her colourful and celebratory Pride designs.

On Friday, August 9, The Fat Britney will be hosting a Drag Quiz at Macca’s bar which promises to be an evening of laughter and fierce competition.

On Saturday, August 10, all members of the LGBTQ+ community will be welcomed to join the Manchester Frontrunners for the park run at Heaton Park.

Families are invited to join the fun at Prestwich Con Club with Born to be Wild Child, an event packed with entertainment and activities for children and parents.

A party will take place at Cuckoo from 2pm on the Saturday which will be an eclectic mix of northern queer performers and DJ sets, live singing and drag performances.

Later on, the party will continue into the night with the DJs Love Hangover providing the closing set at The Goods Inn.

Now in its third year, Prestwich Pride remains committed to giving back to the community, with funds raised during the weekend being donated to local charities, including the George House Trust.

Prestwich Pride communications lead, Matthew Cooper, said: “Last year we made a promise for this year’s event to be our biggest one yet and we’re proud to say what we have in store will achieve that.

“The full line-up hasn’t been released yet but we can guarantee there is something for everyone and excited to be celebrating with everyone again in the heart of Prestwich.”
